Kiwis Against All Odds!

I found a book in the library called "Tahi, One Lucky Kiwi".  It told us about a kiwi who had his leg stuck in a trap.  His leg had to be amputated.  He survived against all the odds.  It is difficult being a kiwi because humans chop down their habitats to build houses and roads.  There are predators who kill kiwis and their babies and eggs.  Stoats are really cute looking but they are really bad for our native creatures.

  9. Hi Benny,

Thank you for your comment. We think your comment was very good. The kiwi could not walk with one leg so the zoo staff and the staff from Weta Workshop helped make him a new leg. Now he has two legs and has slowly got use to using the new leg.

  12. Hi Sienna,

The writer of the book is called Melanie Drewery and it is designed and illustrated by John O'Reilly and Ali Teo. One day when Tahi the kiwi was walking through the bush he got snapped in a trap and he got it cut off. You have really improved in your commenting skills. Well done
